- Q2: I Do you ever treat with
pharmaceuticals (drugs) in your practice?
- A2: A funny thing happened on
the way to the office… There are many diseases and many remedies
for those diseases. Pharmaceutical medicine is the politically favored
method in the world today. However, as man tries to conquer his
environment, he struggles to own the therapy and a very elaborate
scheme for selling drugs (the product) is now in place. At the same
time nature has provided remedies for diseases also and many people
would rather choose a natural remedy over a man-made one. In general,
pharmaceuticals, which are powerful, tend to rescue; whilc natural
products are used to restore. I am fortunate to be trained in the
use of both and indeed the “practice” of medicine has
taken on a larger meaning.
- Q3: Why are bio-identical hormones
so popular?
- A3: They work. I wish that was
all there is to it, but the story is not pretty. Bio-identical hormones
are those hormones that are found naturally in the human body. It
doesn’t take much intelligence to realize that the body would
work better using chemicals it was created to use instead of imposters.
However, we were sold a bill of goods when synthetic hormones were
produced. Indeed, all the known qualities of natural hormones were
predicted for the synthetics. When those qualities were not realized,
the “confusion” was enhanced when we were told “estrogens
and progesterone can be dangerous” when in fact only the synthetic
hormones proved dangerous. When the Prempro study was stopped early
due to cardiovascular deaths, no one should have been surprised
at the outcome: we knew fake progesterone (“progestins”)
were dangerous and should never have been used in the first place.
It took Suzanne Sommers to write a book to tell women there were
alternatives to hot flashes and deterioration. The use of natural
hormones has been growing for twenty years and there is no need
for any woman (or man) to suffer from imbalance or deprivation of
hormones.
- Q4:What is “heavy metal”
poisoning and how do you treat it?
- A4: The most common “heavy
metals” we encounter and treat are lead, mercury, arsenic,
aluminum, cadmium and nickel. These metals have been used in various
industries for centuries. However, the amounts have been staggering
especially in the last half-century. Industries have found them
useful and have been largely careless with respect to disposing
of them and they are now found in our air, food and water and now
are found stored in our bodies. There are specific therapies for
each of the metals, but removing them from the body is a tedious
process and must be done carefully. Some are best removed with I.V.’s
and require careful monitoring. The importance of removing them
is very, very high on the preventive medicine list because they
are poisonous.
- Q5: What are some of the problems
with lead poisoning?
- A5: First of all, lead and other
heavy metal poisoning is not suspected by the medical profession
in general. We were never taught to look in tissues, like skin and
hair, in traditional medical training. Now, I find a hair mineral
analysis an essential lab test for most of my patients. There is
a unique problem which develops especially in those who lived during
World War II and just before. Leaded gasoline was common, lead was
commonly used in plumbing and in house paints. The body absorbed
and stored much of that lead in the bones. For years it was stored
out of the way. However, as the bones begin to demineralize (“osteoporosis”)
with age the lead is slowly released into the blood stream and the
elderly are re-poisoned, accelerating their health problems, like
dementia and high blood pressure.
- Q6: Everywhere I look today,
I see concerns over mercury poisoning. Is this a big problem?
- A6: I think it may be the worst
environmental problem ever. Mercury is highly toxic. It poisons
every system in the body. It prefers the nervous system because
it is rich in sulfur-containing amino acids that mercury prefers
to bind with. It leaves no system untouched, however. Mercury is
in the air from coal-burning plants. It is in the water from industrial
runoff (computer boards use mercury) and improper disposal. It is
in your mouth if you have “silver” fillings. It has
routinely been used in vaccines and is responsible for autism and
Alzheimer’s disease as well as other neurological diseases.
It must be carefully removed from our bodies.
- Q7: I What is your opinion about
vaccines?
- A7: Dangerous and ineffective.
Actually, vaccines may represent the largest public relations hoax
of all time. The Center for Disease Control’s own data show
them to be ineffective and dangerous. Books have been written on
the subject. Congressional hearings have been held. Going back to
the favorite, “what about polio?”, the statistics methods
were changed when the vaccine was produced to make it look like
polio was on the rise, when it actually had been steadily declining
for at least a half-century. When the vaccine came out, the incidents
of polio continued to decline and the vaccine was given all the
credit. Now the only way to get polio is to get a vaccine AND worst
of all is the so-called “post polio syndrome” (people
previously with the disease are mysteriously suffering a delayed
illness). The flu vaccine is “hoaxy” wherever you look:
the hype about flu deaths is seriously misconstrued, there is mercury
in the vaccine, it is given to people whose immune systems cannot
use it adequately, and it is uniformly ineffective against the influenzas
that abound. Generally, I think vaccines are unnecessary. They are,
however, a multibillion dollar product protected by the government.
- Q8: I Is Autism treatable?
- A8: Yes. It is a travesty that
the families with an autistic child are asked to work to raise money
(“walks” “for autism research”) to give
to researchers that are already supplied with billions of dollars
to produce nothing. Many are duped into this tragic hoax. However,
there has been much research which has proven effective for this
problem as well as its less destructive forms of AD(H)D (attention
deficit (hyperactivity) disorder). There are currently treatments
available that have had very touching results as these children
begin to interact with their environments in more normal ways, even
excelling in school. Heavy metal removal and bowel management, including
food allergy control are essential and useful.
